GENERAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY/GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the toughest privacy and security law in the world. Though it was drafted and passed by the European Union (EU), it imposes obligations onto organizations anywhere, so long as they target or collect data related to people in the EU. The regulation was put into effect on May 25, 2018. The GDPR will levy harsh fines against those who violate its privacy and security standards, with penalties reaching into the tens of millions of euros.

Use of social media plug-ins

Plug-ins ("plug-ins") of various social media networks are integrated into our website. The services are provided by the respective companies ("operators").

These operators are:
Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). You can find an overview of the Facebook plug-in at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins

Instagram is operated by Instagram LLC., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA ("Instagram"). An overview of the Instagram plug-in can be found at: http://blog.instagram.com/post/36222022872/introducing-instagram-badges

To increase the protection of your data when visiting our websites, these plug-ins are implemented as a "2-click solution". This type of integration ensures that when you access a page within our website that contains such plug-ins, you are not automatically connected to the provider's servers. Only if you activate the plug-ins and thus allow data transmission, does the browser establish a direct connection to the servers of the operators. The content of the various plug-ins is then transmitted directly to your browser by the respective operator and then displayed on your screen.

The plug-in tells the operator which of our pages you have accessed. If you are logged in to your user account with the respective operator while visiting our website, they can merge your interests, i.e. the information you access, with your user account. When using the plug-in functions (e.g. clicking on the "Like" button, leaving a comment), this information is also transmitted directly from the browser to the operator for storage.

Further information on the collection and use of data by the operator and on your rights and options to protect your privacy can be found in the privacy statements of the operators:
